Parole officer throws Lindsay
Lohan's dad Michael a hook, nixes his celebrity boxing
match
November 19, 2008 - Michael
Lohan's past is keeping him from doing some good in the near
future.
The shady
celebrity dad won't be boxing in the much-hyped charity match
that was set for Monday in Long Island because his parole
supervisors won't let him.
"Mr. Lohan was convicted of assault,
which is a violent crime, and is currently under parole
supervision until February of 2009," said Heather Groll,
a spokeswoman for the New York State Division of Parole.
"We do not feel
that participating in a violent activity, such as celebrity
boxing, whether it is for charity or not, is appropriate for
his rehabilitation. It is inappropriate for a person on
parole to engage in the same type of behavior that landed
him in prison in the first place."
Lohan told the Daily News Wednesday he
is "very disappointed," but understands the
decision.
"I've been on parole for almost two
years now, and being that everything has gone so well, I didn't
want to cross the line in any way with them."
The 48-year-old dad of actress Lindsay
Lohan was arrested in 2004 for attacking his ex-wife's brother
with a shoe at their Merrick, L.I., home.
While awaiting sentencing, he was
charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated
unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Lohan spent two years
in jail.
Last month, he auctioned off a chance to
box him for charity. Lohan was set to enter the ring against
Bob Venero, president and CEO of Future Tech Enterprise in
Holbrook, who pledged $30,000 for the honor.
Lohan says the bout with Venero, who
calls himself "The Humanitarian Hit Man," will go on in March,
when hie parole ends.
And he's already challenging someone
else to a fight. The music producer brother of Lindsay's
girlfriend Samantha Ronson recently called Lohan a "sad,
pathetic loser" for slamming Samantha's hygiene and fashion
sense.
"After the comments and threats that
Mark Ronson made recently, maybe he wants to fight me for
charity," Lohan said. "I'm definitely willing to step in the
ring for three rounds with Mark Ronson."
Venero, 40, will still take part in the
Fight for Charity at the Hilton Long Island in Melville Monday.
He'll box an accountant - and he'll pony up the
$30,000.
"I honored my commitment because it
wasn't Fight for Charity's fault, so I still kept
that in," vowed the businessman-turned-boxer.
Lohan Calls Barack 'Colored' in Chat
November 12, 2008 - Barack
Obama's historic win proves most people in this country are
moving on from a terrible past of racism.
Looks like Lindsay Lohan didn't get the
memo.
In an interview with "Access Hollywood"
on Monday, Lohan had the ultimate cringe moment when she called
President-elect Obama "colored."
When asked how she felt when Obama won,
she answered: "It's an amazing feeling, you know. It's our
first colored president."
Lohan supported the Chicago senator
during his campaign, but the Obama camp - who were seemingly
wary of any celebrity support - did little to use the singer's
endorsement.
